Last year we held the first Members-only exhibition at Royston Museum and Art Gallery. It was successful and the Committee decided to hold another exhibition at the Museum this year and, if possible, in forthcoming years.
The handing-in day for paintings is Monday 22nd May between 2.00 and 5.00pm.
The exhibition preview will be held on Friday 26th May 2017 between 7.30 and 9.30pm. All members of RAS and their families and friends are invited to the preview, but please get there before 9.00pm!
The exhibition will be open to the public from Saturday 27th May through to Saturday 22nd July 2017 – the museum is open from 10.00am to 4.45pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Artists should pick up unsold paintings and cards on Monday 24th July between 10.00 and 12.00am.
Last year when a painting was sold the purchaser was allowed to take it away there and then. The Museum Curator then invited the artist to replace the sold painting with another painting of similar size and format (so that it can be hung in the same space). Last year several artists sold more paintings than they had originally exhibited and we are planning a similar operation this year.
RAS Members can enter up to two framed paintings, 4 unframed paintings and up to 25 cards. There is a small hanging fee to cover the cost of hiring the Museum and producing leaflets etc… details of which can can be found on the entry form.
