Autumn Exhibition 2026 – an outstanding success

RAS Autumn Exhibition 2026

The Royston Arts Society Autumn Exhibition was held over the weekend of 25th to 27th September 2026 in conjunction with the Royston Arts Festival.

It was by far the most successful exhibition we have held in recent years.

We recorded 970 visitors over the exhibition; the average over the previous four years was 744. This is no doubt due in part to the good weather but also the impact of Royston Arts Festival attracting lots of people into Royston.

A total of 55 artists exhibited 355 paintings and 574 greetings cards. Over 80% of the exhibiting artists sold something. The average over the previous four years was 63%, so this is quite a stunning result!

A total of 82 paintings were sold at the 2026 exhibition.  This is double the average of 41 over the last four years.

The total value of paintings and greetings cards sold at the exhibition was 66% higher than the average over the last four years

The record sales were achieved by the much the larger number of sales of “affordable” paintings in the price range up to £200.

Royston Arts Society would like to thank the following organisations and individuals for their help in making this exhibition such a success.

Our sponsors, Johnson Matthey and the Royston Town Mayor’s Community Trust Fund, and the nine local businesses who advertised at the exhibition. Click here to see the list.

Royston Town Council for their help in providing the premises and storing our exhibition screens over the last 50 years or so. Without their support the exhibition would not be possible.

The 30 or so RAS members and others who worked over a period of 4 months to organise the exhibition, help set things up, man the exhibition while it is open to public and the take everything down again.

The 55 artists who exhibited their work at the exhibition.

The 1000 or so residents of Royston and the surrounding villages who attended the exhibition.

On behalf of Home-Start Royston, Buntingford & South Cambs we also thank visitors for donating £137.92 to a collection for HSRBSC during the exhibition.

Many thanks to all of you!!!!

Let’s hope that we can have another equally successful exhibition in 2027!!
