Demonstration programme

Royston Arts Society runs a programme of nine artist demonstrations each year. The programme is arranged to run from April to March the following year. The demos are chosen so that they cover a range of subjects and media. We also try to include one or two demos that are slightly ‘unusual’ either in the medium used or the approach taken to paint a subject. We try to present a programme that will appeal to a wide variety of artists in subject matter, style and medium used.

RAS recently invested in a projection system which allows us to display a large image of the painting on a screen. This means that all visitors get a good view regardless of where they are sitting or the size of the painting. It also allows us to choose demo artists who prefer to work on a table or who paint on a smaller scale

We have a break for a cup of tea or coffee half way through. This allows people to talk to the demo artist and to take a more detailed look at the painting and we hope the demos will provide food for thought for members and non-members alike.

All demos are held in Market Hill Rooms, Fish Hill, Royston, SG8 9DW (map). They start at 8.00pm and finish at 10.00 pm. There is free car parking near to Market Hill Rooms.

If you have any questions or suggestions about the demonstration programme please email the Demonstrations Organiser.
